- Indie-made mobile MMORPG Eterspire is set to get a Christmas-themed makeover
- You’ll be able to explore the hub town, now bedecked in holiday decorations
- Explore a new desert-themed region in Alcalaga
It is a universally accepted truth that a misguided gaming boss who wants to bite off more than they can chew will inevitably go for an MMORPG. That’s what makes the achievements of indie developer Stonehollow Workshop and their MMORPG Eterspire all the more impressive.
Running an MMORPG is difficult, let alone developing one, but Eterspire has managed to capture its niche audience and to celebrate the holidays a new Christmas-themed event is set to debut. The hub town Stonehollow is set to receive a holiday makeover, while free cosmetics, new main storyline content and areas to explore round out the update.
Strangely enough, despite the chilly weather fans of Eterspire will find themselves quite heated as the new section of the main storyline takes them to the desert land of Alcalaga. Explore mysterious ancient temples and enjoy basking in the sun despite a chilly winter, virtually at least. Numerous other miscellaneous updates include balancing for bosses, improvement to map UI and more!
Something the spire
Again, in case you didn’t get what I meant in the intro, it’s impressive that Eterspire is doing well, and growing. An MMORPG is a difficult genre to manage because of the need for continuous content updates, so Stonehollow Workshop tackling it with such aplomb is commendable.
It’s especially notable because the mobile MMORPG market, despite being negligible compared to others, is now seemingly growing rapidly. Part of that can be attributed to the global F2P megahit RuneScape making the jump to mobile with the same updates as PC. All of which means stiff competition for Eterspire, but the opportunity to nab those who want to try something new.
Still, there’s a lot more out there than just MMORPGs. Don’t believe me? Why not take a gander at our latest list of the top five new mobile games to try this week?
