All Confirmed PlayStation Plus December 2024 Games Gamers Arena

It’s time to take another look at the games coming to the PlayStation Plus subscription service this month, and the PlayStation Plus December 2024 lineup already has some pretty impressive games for you to try out.

As ever, games will be added to both the PS Plus Essential lineup, which everyone on Plus can access, and the Game Catalog, which is available to Extra and Premium members only.

Here’s everything that’s currently been confirmed to be joining the PlayStation Plus lineup in December 2024!

PlayStation Plus December 2024: Essential games

Three games will be joining the PS Plus December 2024 lineup for Essential users in December. Two of them are playable on both PS4 and PS5, while the third will require a PS5 to enjoy.

All of these games are being added to the service on December 3rd, so mark that date in your calendar if you’ve been waiting to play any of them.

PlayStation Plus December 2024: Extra and Premium games

Here’s the lineup for December’s PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium offerings. All of these games will be available on the service from December 17th!

First, let’s take a look at the games being added to the PS Plus Game Catalog, which is available for both Extra and Premium subscribers.

Now, here’s everything that’s coming to Premium!

  • Sly 2: Band of Thieves (PS5, PS4)
  • Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves (PS5, PS4)
  • Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PS5, PS4)
  • Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge (PS VR2)

PlayStation Plus December 2024: Ones to watch

Here are the games we think it’s especially worth checking out on PlayStation Plus this December. If you’ve been looking for something to play while you wait for Christmas, look no further than our list!

It Takes Two (PS5, PS4)

It Takes Two brings co-op thrills to PlayStation Plus in December.

This co-op platforming adventure sees parents May and Cody shrunk down to miniature size as they reckon with the effect their messy divorce is having on their daughter.

Enjoyably whimsical (and sometimes surprisingly bleak), It Takes Two comes from the studio that brought you A Way Out and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and it’s been a runaway success since launching in 2021.

Aliens: Dark Descent (PS5, PS4)

Xenomorphs rushing at marines using flamethrowers to try and fight them back in Aliens: Dark Descent, a PlayStation Plus December 2024 game
Aliens: Dark Descent is the perfect game for a chilly December evening.

The legacy of solid Alien games continues with Aliens: Dark Descent, a squad-based tactical action game in which you control teams of marines as they battle a deadly xenomorph outbreak.

You’ll need to have your wits about you to survive; the xenomorphs are deadly, intelligent, and numerous, so your marines will need to use every tool at their disposal to emerge (relatively) unscathed.

Sonic Frontiers (PS5, PS4)

Sonic grinding down some rails in Sonic Frontiers, a PlayStation Plus December 2024 game
Sonic Frontiers will add some open-world platforming fun to your PS Plus experience in December.

Sonic Frontiers takes the long-running platforming franchise into its first open-world environment, allowing Sonic to take on a series of non-linear platforming challenges in any order he chooses.

This one divided critics when it was released, but it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, especially if you’re looking for a Sonic platformer that breaks the mold a little.

Forspoken (PS5)

Forspoken technically serves as developer Luminous Productions’ swansong; the studio was reabsorbed back into Square Enix last year, so it’s not technically a standalone entity anymore.

If you want to see what Luminous was up to before it was merged back into Square Enix, then you should check out this open-world action RPG, which merges parkour and magical combat to create a game our reviewer Dan was very taken with.

That’s it for December’s PlayStation Plus lineup! Let us know if we’ve missed anything as ever, and stay tuned for more games joining the lineup as and when we get them.
