Dragon POW Review – Hardcore Droid Gamers Arena

Sig’s Legendary Blade

Developed and published by BOLTARY GAMES, Dragon POW is a gatcha RPG game that captures the essence of the RPG genre. The game takes the player to the land of Kros, home of the dragons Sig and Ale. Sig is the last dragon knight and the wielder of a legendary blade. The pair take it upon themselves to defeat an enemy known as the Devil and stop him from stealing powerful artifacts and controlling the other creatures to do what he wants. When the Devil steals Sig’s legendary Blade, Ale then decides to acquire a new power and the pair set out on their quest.

Dragon POW lets you ride on the back of various dragons and blast through an army of enemies in the sky. The more monsters you kill, the bigger your dragon becomes. With luck, you’ll even see your dragons transforming into beautiful dragon maidens.

Are You Ready for an Adventure?

Dragon POW is packed with adventure in every corner. Every map has a new world with monsters ready to cause havoc. The player gets over 100 skills to mix, mash up and match. He also gets to unlock some fierce elemental dragons, which becomes a fun treasure-hunting exercise. Ale acquires the power to consume the bullets being shot at him as long as he remains static. The more bullets chopped; the more powerful Ale’s counterattack becomes. When you load up Dragon POW, the game welcomes you with an opening fight where you see more about the storyline. As you progress, you will learn the game’s mechanics, including training, evolution, artifacts, and wish features. The player can make his dragon fly from one side of the scene to another while his rider launches attacks by tapping the screen and swiping with his finger. This pushes the players to calibrate their strikes and moves instead of firing nonstop.

Dragons

Dragons are the core components of Dragon POW. The developers did a great job in presenting the lore-based system of dragons. The player has to use them in any adventure he partakes in. They play a dominant role in every battle, and there are many types, each of which can evolve to provide the player with additional benefits in the long run. Like every live-service RPG, Dragon POW also employs a gatcha system that allows the player to recruit different dragon treasures. The Dragon treasures come in 3 different rarities, known as Epic, Excellent and Rare. The higher the rarity, the better their potency.

Develop your Skills Gradually

Upgrading the skills and characteristics of the player’s dragon is one of the most fun features of Dragon POW.  While playing the game, the player can build up their dragon’s level and select from several temporary upgrades. This will enable him to combine special attacks and synergies to produce a lasting impact on the enemies. Also, the player can obtain permanent upgrades between stages that will increase his dragon’s health points or damage output. The player also can unlock more dragons to accompany him in the battle to deliver the planet from the hands of the Devil.

Dragon POW`s Replay Value

Dragon POW is a fun juggle of activities that builds on itself and gives you the time and opportunity to learn. However, BOLTARY GAMES must do something about the game’s long loading times. It also crashes constantly. Sometimes, when I watch an ad, it crashes right when I’m doing a time trial or something I need to finish.

I also had an issue with the tutorials forcing you to do things even after understanding how it operates. Meanwhile, the events are repetitive, and obtaining the items in them is unnecessarily hard. When a new dragon is released, it usually has its specific wish, and if your wish is enough, it is guaranteed, but not once have I ever been close to that.

Regardless, Dragon POW is as addicting as it was initially because it adds new and fun activities that blend seamlessly into the gameplay loop in an almost perfect balancing act. You can easily sit and play for 30 minutes. The mechanics of eating enemy shots also add a new perspective to the shooter’s side. The gatcha side of things is quite manageable. You can only use one dragon at a time, so you do not need to fill up a huge crew. The characters are super cute, and the controls are easy to understand.

Is it Hardcore?

Yes

Despite its long loading times, Dragon POW is a fun and addictive game.
