I absolutely adore things like eldrich horrors and folklore stories, and happily for me, and probably others, it sounds like LifeAfter is getting in on the fun. The Season 7 expansion, titled The Heronville Mystery, is inserting some folksy terror into proceedings, complete with a new profession to learn from.
You awaken from a hazy dream that left you feeling on edge, only to find an invitation from Heronville perched on your pillow. Heading to this mystery village on the edge of a swamp, you will face down all manner of bizarre creatures as you investigate this spooky place.
To help you on this mission, a group known as the Exorcists will team up with you as you investigate Heronville. Be nice, and they will teach your heir abilities, allowing you to control corpses, transform into defeated survivors, and even receive yourself. To give you a chance to try this out, there is an event that allows you to transition to Exorcisit, give it a go, and then change back for free.
Of course, a new area means a new story. You will meet an Exorcist called Ling Yao who will accompany you to Heronville to delve into its secrets. You will find an underground crypt hiding a secret ritual involving a bridge in red, and unfortunately now you. The advance team has also noted the presence of the Blue Tide to contend with.
A host of powerful new Infected will pop up their heads, not that you’ll be able to see them all. That is because some can blend in with the shadows and sneak up on you, whilst others move so fast and unexpectedly that you won’t be able to keep up. The more you advance in the story, the more weird and wonderful monsters will pop up.
Season 7 is also packing the latest Simple Survival-themed servers. These allow you the chance to create new survivors and level up incredibly easily thanks to a simplified development system for rapid progression. Thanks to the pre-launch event for this season, everyone will receive the Falling Gift and Shining Blind Box. Finally, for the first 14 days of this event, you can enjoy the free profession switch, a gender and race change, plus facial reshaping on skill resetting.
